Sony's new NAS-M7HDS has 80GB of storage onboard, capable of storing roughly 40,000 songs. It can receive songs from the built-in CD and Minidisk players, Ethernet, a Memory Stick slot, and via USB so is even PSP friendly. It plays and records the ATRAC and MP3 formats but not the AAC Apple format, that’s right, fight the Ipod generation! The NAS-M7HDS is currently only available in Japan for ¥84,800, (£416.60 by today’s exchange rate) and if you bought it online, you can purchase CDs through Sony’s online store via the 4.3 inch colour screen, connectivity a-go-go!

With everyone so concerned with increasing the speed and reach of wireless routers it’s nice to see Liteon focussing on improving the looks of its dull predecessor. This wireless router consists of two parts: (1) a network home plug that plugs into the wall and sends the network’s signal through the electrical power-lines and (2) a wireless router that has a light bulb connector. The network home plug sends the network signal through the electrical power-lines, then the wireless router picks the signal up via the light bulb connection. Cool idea, just not that great for rooms with one main light bulb connection in the room, obviously, not a problem for moles or vampires, so should do well in those two markets.

CalSpas Galaxy Entertainment GX49 Spa, has 49 superjets, marine-grade surround sound speakers complete with subwoofer, a 42” plasma screen that rises at the push of a button from a hidden compartment, DVD, CD and four waterfalls with multi-coloured lighting to make sure that your mind is truly blown. I really shouldn’t have to explain why this is cool but just imagine non-chalantly inviting five of your favourite guests round for “a quiet night in, maybe watch a movie?!”
Available in different colours and finishes this should trump most peoples ‘must-buy’ top-spot, short of life-saving surgery, which would probably cost about the same.
