The Loc8tor

The Loc8tor Plus

Whilst at the Ideal Home show in London I spied one of these ingenious devices. I'm pretty sure everyone has thought of this idea one time or another but a round of applause for someone going ahead and making it a reality. Lost your keys, wallet, child again? Tag them to work with the Loc8tor, and the radar-like device will track them down within a 183m / 600-foot range and will guide you to within 2.5cm / 1" using audio visual. The Loc8tor plus pack also comes with an 'Alert' function which, unsurprisingly, alerts if items move outside preset zones helping to guard against accidental loss or theft. Both models are now available to buy with the basic model coming in at £59.99 and the Loc8tor Plus pack selling for £99.99. My only worry is what happens if you lose the Loc8tor?! That's when they bring out the Loc8tor Loc8tor!

XL your ipod with the Geneva sound system

Geneva ipod sound system

For the more audio quality conscious ipod user, who wants an easy solution for home entertainment connectivity I introduce to your the Geneva Sound Systems. The Geneva 600W XL and 100 W L systems have iPod docks and built-in speakers as well as an FM tuner, CD player, and front panel which displays the current input status. Available in boring ipod white to match its destined counterpart but also in last season's AV black and a more dangerous; exotic red, clearly the choice of the brave.

Bargain Hunters eat your Heart out

£18 Tesco Value DVD Player

This Tesco Value DVD player is £18. It does what it's meant to do, play dvds, and not much else. No fancy pants HD ready-ness, not network ready for the Smart-Home but it does play CDs and comes with a remote control. Cheaper than some DVD discs, hopefully Tesco will start bulk buying Jimmy Choo shoes so buying my girlfriend her 'must have' high-heels won't mean I have to live off (tesco value) beans on toast for the rest of the month.
