“That’s right computer, good boy!”

Intel MCE PC

The WinHEC conference is a showcase of forward thinking concepts and yesterday Intel unveiled their 2007 Media Centre Edition PC prototype. Intel demonstrated a system with a separate navigation screen, as seen in the picture, so you can queue up the next track or playlist at a party while the main screen is still showing an active display. Systems with a built in display are old news but what was unique about this was that it had a voice-to-text navigation interface. Imagine walking into your lounge and saying “Watch TV” or "Play afterwork-chillout-my-life-is-so-stressful playlist” without having to push any buttons let alone find the remote. Indeed a good level of satisfaction could be derived from telling the computer to “shut-up” or “die” when you want it to turn off.

The iTrip cometh

iTrip

Most likely the no 1 ipod accessory in the US, the Griffin iTrip is coming to the UK! Previously banned here due to violating the 1949 Wireless Telegraphy Act as it falls into the pirate radio category, this clever little add-on simply sits on the top of your iPod and broadcasts your favourite tunes across a short distance such as over a few rooms or within a car. You then tune in your radio, or car radio and hey presto music a la iPod.
